Terms of Service

Last updated: April 8, 2026

Welcome to Kontra. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. They're written to be plain and short — we want you to actually read them.

1. What Kontra does

Kontra is a tool for freelancers, creators, and independent professionals to create and send invoices, manage contracts, track usage rights, and organize clients. We don't handle the actual money — your clients pay you directly via the payment links and details on your invoices. Kontra never holds, transfers, or processes funds between you and your clients.

2. Your account

3. Plans and billing

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Kontra to:

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice.

5. Your content

Everything you create in Kontra (invoices, contracts, client details, branding) belongs to you. We claim no ownership over your content. By uploading content, you grant us only the limited license needed to host, display, and back up your data so the service can function.

6. Service availability

We aim for high uptime but don't guarantee 100%. The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data, except where the law says otherwise.

7. Data and privacy

See our Privacy Policy for details on what we collect and how we handle it. In short: minimum data, EU storage, no selling, you can delete it all anytime.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that means you accept the updated terms.

9. Termination

You can delete your account anytime from Settings → Danger Zone. We may terminate or suspend accounts that violate these terms or applicable law.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by Swedish law. Disputes will be resolved in Swedish courts unless a mandatory consumer-protection law gives you the right to use a different jurisdiction.
